NSFOCUS Chooses Tilera TILEPro64 for Its Anti-DDoS System and Network IPS/IDS Systems

NSFOCUS Information Technology has announced that it has selected the Tilera TILEPro64 processor for its next generation anti-DDoS and network IPS/IDS systems. The new anti-DDoS security system will be launched in July 2010, while the new network IPS/IDS systems will be launched later this year. In addition to the adoption of current generation Tilera TILEPro64 silicon, NSFOCUS Information Technology will work with Tilera as a strategic partner with its product roadmap and use Tilera's upcoming TILE-Gx product family to build its next generation of powerful and reliable security systems.

Tilera is a market leader in multicore processors. Tilera processors are based on a mesh architecture, which provides performance, scalability and low-power across hundreds of cores. Tilera processors are programmed in a standard Linux environment with a standard GCC compiler. The TILEPro64 processor has been in production since 2009. It integrates 64 high-performance cores, four memory controllers, PCIe controllers, and up to 22 Gbps of Ethernet ports.

"We have been looking for very high-performance and low-power processors to address the tremendous demand growth for network information inspection and management, and to provide reliable network security systems for our customers," said Mr. Shen Ji-ye, CEO of NSFOCUS. "We selected Tilera's TILEPro64 processor because it delivers the highest application throughput on the market at the best performance per watt, satisfying the ever-increasing computing needs of high-end security, advanced networking and cloud computing. In addition, our engineers can quickly develop new products in a familiar Linux environment and standards-based tools."

"We are very honored to partner with NSFOCUS, a true market leader in the network security market segment, and we appreciate NSFOCUS' vision to develop the most powerful and power-efficient network security systems," said Mr. Michael Wu Xiao-Dong, the managing director of Tilera, Asia Pacific. "Our products are the leading multicore processors on the market today. We are also the only company with the technology to provide our customers with a scalable roadmap that will offer generations of leading performance, power efficiency and cost."
