Mellanox Open Ethernet 10, 40Gb/s Switch Earns Award at Interop Tokyo

Open Ethernet Technology and Solution are Honored with a Best of Show Award in the Data Center and Storage Category

Interop Tokyo has honored Mellanox Technologies SX1024 Open Ethernet-enabled switch with the Best of Show special recognition award. Mellanox ConnectX-3 Pro dual-port adapters were named as a finalist in the category.

Mellanox’s SX1024, based on Mellanox’s SwitchX-2 switch silicon, is the world’s first non-blocking ToR switch with 48 10GbE ports and 12 40GbE ports in a 1U solution. The SX1024 enables leading low-latency, density and non-blocking throughput between the rack and the aggregation layer, which makes it the optimal-performing switch for server and storage environments, and large data centers with high-performance compute and storage needs for cloud and Big Data applications. The SX1024 enables data center IT managers to increase their application performance and eliminate the forced congestion imposed by other Ethernet switch solutions.

“We are pleased to be recognized by Interop Tokyo for our efforts to improve data center efficiency with our Open Ethernet solutions, SX1024 and ConnectX-3 Pro,” said Gilad Shainer, vice president of marketing at Mellanox Technologies. “Mellanox is committed to delivering to our customers the very best cloud and enterprise data center interconnect solutions that increase their applications efficiency and overall return on investment.”

Judges, including editors from Japan’s leading technology publications IT Leaders, IT Insider and TechTarget Japan, designated the honors of Best of Show and finalist in the data center and storage category to Mellanox’s SX1024 and ConnectX-3 Pro at the 20th Annual Interop Tokyo.
