T-Platforms presents at the 'Parallel Computing on Cluster Systems' conference

This week the 9th international conference “Parallel Computing on Cluster Systems” took place at Vladimir State University (VlSU) in the Russian city of Vladimir. Within the framework of the event T-Platforms, the Russian supercomputer holding and the conference partner, and the Regional Center for New Information Technology of VlSU made a presentation about Russian supercomputers in science and education.
 
The presentation highlighted the major problems of supercomputer implementation and use in science and education organizations, the problems solution options and the effectiveness of the modern Russian HPC technology. Above all, T-Platforms revealed some details on its latest developments and current supercomputer projects.
 
The conference was organized by the Supercomputer Consortium of Russia’s Universities. Vladimir State University is a member of the Consortium and T-Platforms is an associated member of this organization.  VlSU owns one of the CIS top 50 most powerful supercomputers. It is a system with performance of 4.77Tflops developed and implemented by T-Platforms. The supercomputer occupies the 23rd position of the current list of the Top50 most powerful computers of Russia and the CIS and is one of the few systems in the region with hybrid architecture, i.e. – using different types of processors.
 
The international seminar-conference “Parallel Computing on Cluster Systems” have been organized annually since 2001. The event’s mission is to highlight the current range of problems of using HPC systems and provide foreign and Russian specialists with an opportunity to share their experience and knowledge in this field.
