Systems Alliance to Meet Needs of Florida Higher Ed

Systems Alliance Authorized to Sell and Deliver Sun Hardware, Software and Services to Florida’s Public Colleges, Universities, Teaching Hospitals and Healthcare Institutions

Systems Alliance today announced it has been authorized to resell Sun Microsystems hardware, software and services to public community and four-year colleges, universities, teaching hospitals and other public-sector healthcare and research institutions through Sun’s contract with the State of Florida.

Recently named Sun Microsystems 2009 Education Partner of the Year, Systems Alliance currently provides IT consulting, performance improvement, data center engineering and other services to a number of private and public colleges, universities and healthcare institutions, including Johns Hopkins, Virginia Tech, Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Tennessee. In addition to offering Florida’s intuitions significant healthcare and higher education industry expertise, in August, Systems Alliance also opened a new office in Naples, expanding its local presence.

Under the terms of the State of Florida contract, Systems Alliance can offer Florida public colleges and healthcare institutions pre-negotiated Education discounted pricing on Sun products widely used for desktop, server and storage virtualization, high performance computing, Web infrastructure, identify and access management, image archiving and other enterprise computing functions. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Open storage appliances
  • SunRays, workstations, workgroup products and associated peripherals
  • Enterprise Storage products & software
  • Sun software
