Ethernet Alliance expands its membership with the addition of eight new members -- The Ethernet Alliance, an industry group dedicated to the continued success and expansion of Ethernet technology, today announced its participation at the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA) workshop, “100Gb Ethernet: The Next Challenge for Communications Systems,” to be held August 29 at the Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose, CA. Members of the Ethernet Alliance, including Alessandro Barbieri and Joe Stewart of Cisco Systems and John D’Ambrosia of Force10 Networks, will participate in the session “100Gb Ethernet Network Perspective,” co-organized by OIDA and the Ethernet Alliance. OIDA members include the leading providers of optoelectronic components and systems enabled by optoelectronics, as well as universities and research institutions. OIDA serves as the voice of industry to government and academia, acts as liaison with other industry associations worldwide, and provides a network for the exchange of ideas and information within the optoelectronics community. Ethernet Alliance Announces New Members The Ethernet Alliance also announced the addition of eight new members: Finisar, Kenet, Nexans, Plato Networks, PowerDsine, ProCurve Networking by HP, Quadrics, and the University of Toronto.
