California Software Announces the Release of INFINITE NET 3.1
California Software Corporation , a leader in Legacy Extension, Business Intelligence and loan production software for banks, credit unions and consumer lending institutions and developer of the award-winning BABY, Unibol, LPS and INFINITE product lines, announced it has begun shipping its latest release of INFINITE NET. "Web-based technology is evolving at such a fast rate that we are continually adding functionality and features to our existing products. This latest release of INFINITE NET, based on Microsoft .net technology has begun shipping today," said Carol Conway, President, California Software. Karen Bass, Vice President Client Services, California Software stated, "The latest enhancements to INFINITE NET Version 3.1 include Remote Client Printing that supports spooled print jobs from the AS/400 host using LPR/LPD, Windows Print Manager controls, enhanced WYSIWYG from the INFINITE NET Studio Environment, easier development environment (IE: a screen button can execute an auto-generated input to a specified input field on the screens), Extended properties in GUI controls (IE: Independent screens generated outside the 5250/3270 datastreams can be assigned GUI attributes as if they were inherited by a typical green screen),a plug and play communication layer, debugger and trace features." INFINITE NET is a suite of products that creates a graphical front end for IBM iSeries (formerly AS/400) and Mainframe screens. Then, the product web-enables the legacy applications and provides integration capabilities to other applications on other platforms. INFINITE NET competes with products such as RUMBA from NetManage and JWalk from Seagull Software. In fact, California Software has announced its Switch and Save program for Seagull and NetManage customers. This program allows RUMBA or JWalk users to trade older licenses of JWalk and RUMBA for new Web-based INFINITE NET licenses at no charge.
