EI ANNOUNCES BREAKTHROUGH MPI SOLUTION AT SC2003

Engineered Intelligence (EI), the technology leader in parallel programming software, today introduced a high performance solution for the industry standard Message Passing Interface (MPI) that breaks the barriers of bandwidth and latency for Ethernet based communication. MPI-XF for Message Passing Interface - Extremely Fast, delivers unprecedented performance for programmers who use message passing, without requiring specialized hardware. EI will showcase the solution in their booth #2019 at SC2003, the Supercomputing conference, November 17-21 in Phoenix, AZ. "We’re offering this new solution to augment our parallel programming offerings and deliver breakthrough performance to the MPI user, without requiring the significant investment in specialized networking hardware," said Matt Oberdorfer, President and CEO of EI. "With MPI-XF we now provide software that dramatically increases the speed of MPI applications using standard Ethernet connections, delivering lower latency and higher bandwidth than has ever been possible before. MPI-XF moves data so fast that we include Monster™ Ethernet cables with every license!” MPI-XF combines the utility of Message Passing Interface with powerful communication technology derived from EI’s patented Connected Memory Architecture (CMA) and EXtremely Fast Compression (XFC). Using standard 100 Mbps Ethernet, MPI-XF delivers more than 20 Mbytes/sec sustained bandwidth and less than 60 µsec latency (one half round trip time). Developers who have invested time and effort in MPI programming can leverage their work with EI’s solution to gain extreme performance for their applications, using existing hardware and Monster cables for maximum throughput. Pricing and Availability MPI-XF is immediately available on platforms running Microsoft Windows and Linux, with several selected UNIX systems in development, at a list price of $100 per processor. Support for additional hardware platforms will be based on market demand. Contact EI at info@engineeredintelligence.com for additional information and quotations.
