Ekahau has announced that it has inked an agreement with ZyXEL Communications for integrating the Ekahau Site Survey or ESS Wi-Fi network planning and survey tool to support ZyXEL Wi-Fi access points and antennas.

In a release Alpha Chen, vice president of ZyXEL’s Enterprise Solution Business Unit said, “ZyXEL’s wireless LAN products provide enterprises with scalable and feature-abundant solutions.”

“The cooperation with Ekahau will strengthen the performance of ZyXEL wireless LAN products and enable our users to quickly and easily create, improve and troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks,” Chen added.

According to company sources ESS is an easy-to-use software tool useful in professional Wi-Fi network planning, site surveys and administration. Ekahau will integrate its products characteristics into the ESS, giving users the ability to design and analyze their networks based on specific capabilities of the ZyXEL devices.

Also ESS allows network administrators to automatically determine optimal locations and configurations for the ZyXEL access points besides aiding in the verification and optimization of the network and in quickly troubleshooting network issues, said company sources.Jussi Kiviniemi, senior product manager at Ekahau said, “By accurately modeling ZyXEL access points and antennas into ESS, users have more accurate, three-dimensional network planning capabilities, which ultimately results in a more cost-effective Wi-Fi solution with optimized performance.”
