Beacon Enterprise Solutions Expands Relationship with National Grocery Chain

Beacon Enterprise Solutions Group has announced that it has been engaged by an existing client, one of the nation's largest retail grocery chains, to perform additional ITS services.

As part of the new engagement, Beacon will implement several projects including a beta test with five of the client's retail stores for a discreet wireless network. The beta test is of particular importance to the client's marketing efforts, as the discreet wireless network will be used to track shopper behavior within the aisles, the type of products they touch and ultimately what is purchased. The client will be able to analyze each customer's visit to better determine product placement and overall store organization for a more efficient and pleasurable shopping experience.

As previously announced, Beacon has been providing network design and engineering services for this client's in-store communications systems for both new facilities and upgrades to existing facilities since 2008. This particular chain spans many states under several different banners.

"This national grocery chain has continued to expand its presence in the US, and has relied on Beacon's ITS solutions and infrastructure expertise to help ensure that its stores and logistics operate as efficiently as possible in the competitive grocery market," said Bruce Widener, CEO of Beacon Enterprise Solutions. "Beacon's high level of engineering and technical performance is well-recognized by both our national and international clients, and we are pleased to have been selected by this client to implement additional ITS solutions."
