New name reflects company’s expanded focus into application workload management for enterprise data centers: Evergrid, Inc. today announced the company will change its name to Librato, Inc., effective immediately. The new name encompasses the expanded scope of the company’s product offerings which now includes application workload management in addition to grid computing products. Librato Load Manager helps balance application workloads to deliver predictable application performance and optimal resource utilization for x86 platforms on physical or virtual servers. These capabilities enable customers to run more applications on fewer servers without compromising business goals. “With the introduction of Load Manager earlier this year, our product offering has expanded to cover a wide range of application environments in enterprise data centers in addition to grid computing environments.” said Fred van den Bosch, CEO of Librato, Inc. “Our focus is on reducing data center expenses by optimally balancing application resource consumption and Quality of Service through a family of application workload management products. The name Librato more accurately reflects our widened scope and the types of products and services that we offer.” Founded in 2005, Librato first developed a unique technology for lightweight, transparent checkpoint/restart and migration capabilities, for high performance grid computing environments. This technology required detailed knowledge of application structure and state. Leveraging this core technology and expertise, Librato expanded its product portfolio by adding an application workload management solution, Load Manager.
