The “Discover Our Earth” educational Web resource, led by Dogan Seber, director of the SDSC Geoinformatics Lab, is highlighted in the NetWatch section of Science Magazine. Supported by the NSF, the educational site provides earth science information and innovative interactive tools for both teachers and students. The site is also a collection in the Digital Library for Earth System Education (DLESE) and the National Science Digital Library. The project began in 1999 when Seber was at Cornell, and continues as a collaborative research and education activity at SDSC.
