Chelsio showcases its Unified Storage Server software

Chelsio Communications announced that it will be showcasing the capabilities of its Unified Storage Server (USS) software to enable high performance storage solutions with a demonstration next week at the Chelsio booth (#417) at Storage Networking World (SNW Spring) in Dallas, Texas. The demonstration shows 1,100,000 IOPS (input/output instructions per second) performance with a simple and cost-effective iSCSI target solution that is built with off-the-shelf components.
The demonstration will include five iSCSI initiators (running MS Windows 2008 R2) accessing the high performance iSCSI target through a generic 10GbE switch. The iSCSI target server includes a Chelsio T4 Unified Wire adapter, four enterprise-class PCIe SSDs from Micron Technology, Inc., and Chelsio's USS software. IOmeter benchmarking software will be used to show the read/write performance of the system.
Comprised of off-the-shelf components, this solution demonstrated at SNW will show how resellers and integrators can use the USS software to easily construct a cost-effective, high performance iSCSI target.

The feature-rich USS software supports CIFS, NFS, RDMA, HTTP, Thin Provisioning volumes, Volume cloning, snapshots, instant restore from snapshots, volume encryption and replication compression.
