AccelerEyes announces the upcoming release of ArrayFire, adding support for the new Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors. The Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor is a major advancement in the technical and high-performance computing industry, delivering more cores than ever before in a new advanced architecture. ArrayFire's popular library of functions (freely available to most users) is now available to provide pre-packaged, easy-to-use speed enabling developers to get the best utilization of the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor.
ArrayFire is an OpenCL library designed for maximum speed without the hassle of writing time-consuming OpenCL device code. With ArrayFire's OpenCL library functions, developers can maximize productivity and performance. Each of ArrayFire's functions has been hand-tuned by OpenCL experts. In fact, the same ArrayFire code will run on the CPU and the integrated GPU of Intel Core processors, the Intel Xeon processors, and the Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor. With ArrayFire, each of these OpenCL-compatible devices can be used simultaneously.
The library contains hundreds of functions for math, signal processing, image processing, and algorithms. Through its broad function set, nearly every engineering, science, or financial simulation can be accelerated today.
ArrayFire includes the innovative GFOR-loop, enabling all iterations of a FOR-loop to run simultaneously on the OpenCL device. It also includes the notable Graphics Library for stunning data visualizations of the OpenCL simulations.
New Intel Xeon Phi Support
"The ArrayFire library enable developers to gain access to the powerful parallel computing features of Intel Xeon processors including multicore and SIMD," said Joe Curley, Director of marketing at Intel Corporation. "This release of ArrayFire extends these powerful concepts to the new Intel Xeon Phi coprocessor and enables developers to access new levels of power/performance in highly parallel computing."
Supercomputing 2012 Demos
Intel and AccelerEyes will be demoing ArrayFire on Intel Xeon Phi at the upcoming SC'12 conference in Salt Lake City. Visit AccelerEyes booth #2415 or Intel booth #2617 to view demos and learn more.
Pricing and availability
Visit the company website to download ArrayFire. ArrayFire is free for most users, supporting a single OpenCL device. Commercial licenses are available starting at $499 USD ($149 edu).
