The Second International Workshop on High-Performance Reconfigurable Computing Technology and Applications (HPRCTA'08) will be held Nov. 17 in conjunction with SC08 in Austin, Texas. The goal of this workshop is to provide a forum for academic researchers and industry to discuss the latest trends and developments in the field, and to set a research agenda on the use of field-programmable gate array (FPGA) technology in high-performance computing. HPRCTA'08 is organized by the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) and George Washington University. Submissions are solicited on a wide variety of topics related to the field of high-performance reconfigurable computing (HPRC), including but not limited to:

• Architecture of high-performance reconfigurable computing devices and systems
• Languages, compilation techniques, and tools for high-performance reconfigurable computing
• Libraries and run-time environments for high-performance reconfigurable computing
• Performance modeling/prediction and benchmarks for high-performance reconfigurable computing
• Algorithms, methodology, and formal methods in application development for HPRC
• Applications of high-performance reconfigurable computing in science and engineering
• Trends and the latest developments in the field of high-performance reconfigurable computing.

Full-length papers up 10 pages are solicited. Authors should submit PDF documents to HPRCTA'08 Volodymyr Kindratenko at kindr@ncsa.uiuc.edu. Submissions are due Sept. 15, 2008. Manuscript preparation instructions will be posted at its Web site. All papers selected for this workshop will be peer-reviewed. The authors of accepted papers will be scheduled to present their work in one of the technical sessions. The workshop organizers are pursuing an option to include the workshop proceedings in the IEEE Digital Library, with the best papers presented at the workshop being considered for inclusion in a special issue of the ACM Transactions on Reconfigurable Technology and Systems (TRETS).
