Weekly Wednesday Classes Cover Data Tools, Application and Management: The San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) announced a weekly series of informal summer seminars covering a wide range of high-performance computing topics, including scientific workflow tools, an introduction to parallel computing, data applications and management, and portal design. The series, which begins July 2nd and continues every Wednesday until September 2008, is open to all TeraGrid users through the ReadyTalk audio and web conferencing service. There is no fee to attend, and registration is not required for the seminars, but reserving a place in advance is strongly recommended. “This is the first year we are doing a summer seminar series, and we are very excited to be offering such a wide range of topics on high performance computing ,” said Subhashini Sivagnanam, Academic Associates Program Liaison/Training Coordinator for SDSC. “These seminars are designed to be educational and informative for HPC students as well as researchers who want to keep up with the latest tools and techniques.” A full class schedule and ReadyTalk weblink information can be accessed online.
