Attunity Integration Suite extended to include support for Oracle Rdb and RMS on the HP Integrity platform: Attunity, a leading provider of enterprise-class software for application and data integration, and solutions in the new and fast growing Workplace Applications market, today extended its commitment to the OpenVMS community running on HP Integrity Servers. Available immediately, the Attunity Integration Suite (AIS) 5.0 now supports Oracle Rdb on OpenVMS running on HP Integrity servers, complementing the existing support of RMS. As a direct result of customer requests, Attunity brought forward initial development schedules, demonstrating the significance that Attunity attributes to customer responsiveness. Attunity's suite of integration products (Attunity Connect, Attunity Federate and Attunity Stream) will now offer OpenVMS users support for Oracle Rdb as well as RMS. Oracle just announced its Rdb product family release 7.2 for OpenVMS Itanium-Based and AlphaServer Systems earlier this year. RMS, a file storage technology built-into OpenVMS, can be accessed using Attunity Connect, using standards-based SQL queries and XML interactions. The benefits for customers include extending existing data systems based on RMS or Rdb into new application initiatives, increasing the returns on their original investments. "We take our customers' requests very seriously," said Andy Bailey, vice president of worldwide marketing, Attunity. "And it is for this reason that we accelerated our development schedules to support Oracle Rdb as well as RMS on HP Integrity servers. For OpenVMS users who wish to fully exploit their investments in Rdb and RMS, there really is no other vendor as committed to helping them as Attunity." Using Attunity, customers can gain access to their data on HP Integrity systems as well as integrate that same data with other sources. The combination enables customers to drive down overall enterprise computing costs and open up new opportunities to leverage their corporate information assets. By supporting standard interfaces and Web Services, AIS enables customers to rapidly incorporate HP Integrity servers, mainframe, AS400, and legacy data and application environments into corporate IT information architecture initiatives such as Business Intelligence, Datawarehousing, mainframe integration and SOA.
