T-Platforms Joins the HPC Advisory Council

T-Platforms has become the first Russian company to have joined the HPC Advisory Council. As a member of this organization T-Platforms will yet more contribute to development of the supercomputer industry by sharing its expertise and resources with not only Russian, but foreign HPC  users as well.

The HPC Advisory Council’s mission is to bridge the gap between high-performance computing (HPC) use and its potential, bring the beneficial capabilities of HPC to new users for better research, education, innovation and product manufacturing, bring users the expertise needed to operate HPC systems, provide application designers with the tools needed to enable parallel computing, and to strengthen the qualification and integration of HPC system products.

“We are proud to have T-Platforms become the first Russian member of the HPC Advisory Council, and we look forward to their contribution and keen awareness of end-user requirements and education needs within Russia,” said Gilad Shainer, Chairman of the HPC Advisory Council. “With over 100 members worldwide, the HPC Advisory Council has become a key resource for end-users and organizations across the world to better leverage HPC system capabilities and improve productivity and efficiency.”

The HPC Advisory Council has its own High-Performance Computing Center and support group. The center offers an environment for developing, testing, benchmarking and optimizing products based on clustering technology and also provides a unique ability to access the latest systems, CPU, and networking (InfiniBand/10GigE) technologies, even before it reaches the public availability. The Council’s support group provides a support center for consultations, questions, and issues for the HPC end-users.

At the moment the Council has over 100 members amongst which are the world leading developers and manufacturers of HPC solutions, hardware components and software, science and education organizations.

It should be noted that four months ago T-Platforms also joined Supercomputer Consortium of Russian Universities. The primary goal of the organization is to develop and implement measures of effective use of the existing Higher School potential for development and application of supercomputer technologies in Russian education, science and industry.

“We put much effort into development of the HPC industry and building international ties in this area. Our membership in the HPC Advisory Council once again shows that Russian supercomputer technologies are recognized as competitive and that we have vast experience and expertise we are ready share with the Russian and foreign HPC users”, says Mikhail Kozhevnikov, Vice President of T-Platforms.
