Network Situational Awareness Technology Added to Blanket Purchase Agreement
Lumeta’s network situational awareness solution was added to ManTech's Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation, Tools and Continuous Monitoring as a Service (CDM CMaaS) Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) as a part of the solution set provided to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Lumeta will add a critical foundation for cyber security services, as it discovers comprehensive network intelligence on every connection, device, and leak path across a network, including previously unknown components.
In August 2013, DHS awarded ManTech a BPA to provide cyber security services and integration for CDM across a wide range of ".gov" networks. The 5-year BPA has an estimated value of $6 billion to support the federal government’s ability to deliver cyber security services across the U.S. government and civilian marketplace.
Network Situational Awareness
Lumeta’s network situational awareness solutions, Lumeta IPsonar and Lumeta ESI, discover a full network and close the network visibility gap caused by programs such as BYOD, IPv6, Cloud, and Outsourcing. For point-in-time “snapshot” needs such as audit, but also available for real-time monitoring, Lumeta discovers more on a network than basic network discovery tools or vulnerability assessment (VA) tools with a “built-in” discovery feature. The network data discovered with Lumeta can be ingested by tools such as VA, SIEM, GRC, and Big Data Analytics to maximize their effectiveness. Lumeta already integrates directly with Tripwire IP360, Allgress Insight Risk Management Suite, HP ArcSight, and several other products. Many more integrations will be available throughout the coming months.
“Lumeta technology has proven valuable to many federal agencies since its inception. We look forward to supporting DHS as it deploys solutions to strengthen its cyber security risk profile,” said Reggie Best, chief product officer of Lumeta.
Among federal executive agencies, CDM is not only essential to ensuring cybersecurity, but also to easing the burden of complying with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) and establishing appropriate budgeting levels for information security.
“Including Lumeta network situational awareness technology with the CDM tools and services offered to DHS will strengthen the overall solution,” said L. William Varner, president and chief operating officer of ManTech's Mission, Cyber & Intelligence Solutions (MCIS) Group. “The foundational intelligence Lumeta delivers provides the base knowledge needed for proactive network security.”
