Altair focused on expanding its Network of GridWorks Channel Partners: Altair announced today it has added another key strategic partner to its network of Channel Partners with CB Technologies, which will be promoting and selling Altair's PBS Professional, the leading cluster and grid-computing workload management and scheduling software. The agreement illustrates Altair's commitment to providing unified software solutions to reduce costs and increase value to customers. As an HP Platinum Business Partner, CB Technologies offers flexible and affordable high performance computing (HPC) solutions to its customers. By joining the Altair Channel Partner network, CB Technologies will integrate Altair's PBS Professional with its HP product solutions to deliver higher value to its customers. "Many CB Technologies customers have standardized on PBS Professional for their grid computing software environment, which is why it makes sense for us to work more closely with Altair to deliver a more unified solution," said Kelly Ireland, co-principal, CB Technologies. Part of GridWorks, Altair's suite of grid computing technologies, PBS Professional is an on-demand computing software environment that provides features such as workload management and job scheduling, which are essential in powering grids and clusters computing environments. PBS Professional maximizes the utilization of computing resources by intelligently scheduling and managing computational workload. By increasing the efficiency of the hardware and software resources, PBS Professional reduces total cost of ownership and provides true business value to grid computing customers in a variety of industries. Altair's innovative and patented software licensing model for PBS Professional allows users to only pay for what they use, thus powering a pure on-demand computing environment. "CB Technologies and Altair are both focused on better servicing the customer with this agreement, which we believe will deliver higher value to our users," said Bill Nitzberg, chief technology officer, GridWorks. "One trend we're seeing is the need for computing solutions that are more tightly integrated and that are easy to set-up, manage and maintain. This partnership provides customers with an optimized solution from day-one."
