Stratosphere Cloud Hosting Platform Built on SolidFire and CloudStack Tackles Broad Enterprise Workloads
Datapipe has selected SolidFire as the primary storage system for its Stratosphere Cloud platform. The Stratosphere Cloud platform was designed to meet the increasing demands of current and prospective enterprise customers, whose businesses depend on guaranteed performance and reliability.
Datapipe's Stratosphere Cloud platform delivers support for a wide range of customer solutions including supercomputing, managed private cloud, as well as elastic self-service public and private cloud offerings. All offerings are accessible via the Stratosphere Cloud Management Portal or programmatically via API. Stratosphere enables enterprises to solve complex business problems and drive new revenues using popular big data applications and NoSQL databases in a secure and predictable high performance cloud.
"The integration of SolidFire's fine-grain Quality of Service (QoS) into the CloudStack management framework was a key driver behind our decision to move forward with the technology," said Robb Allen, CEO, Datapipe. "Having SolidFire as the primary storage system for Stratosphere allows us to deliver guaranteed performance storage and services catered to the enterprise."
SolidFire's all-SSD storage platform is the only technology capable of delivering guaranteed performance to thousands of applications within a shared infrastructure. Within both their public and private cloud offerings, Datapipe customers can take advantage of SolidFire's ability to manage performance independent of capacity and adjust application speed instantly and on demand. "Within our SolidFire-based offerings we have completely eliminated the need to reallocate or migrate data to gain performance. Customers can simply turn the performance dial and the required resources are immediately available," said Allen.
"The ability to support and guarantee both HPC applications and general cloud workloads from a single storage system makes Datapipe extremely agile in responding to the changing application demands of their customers," said Stuart Oliver, Senior Cloud Program Manager, SolidFire. "We look forward to helping them drive their unique solution set into the marketplace."
