New Office Furthers Company's Global Initiative to Invest in International Markets and Creates New Jobs in Ireland: Emulex Corporation today announced the official opening of its new international operations headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Emulex's new international operations office marks the fourth office to be opened by Emulex in Europe, and is the only office outside of the United States with finance and operations functions. The opening of this office supports the company's initiative to continue to expand globally in an effort to leverage talent around the world and better support our international customers. The Dublin office will be responsible for managing business with Emulex customers outside the United States. This will enable customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to liaise directly with Emulex personnel who are located in their region and often in the same time zone. The opening of the new subsidiary has also created 11 new jobs in Ireland, which is even more important during this time of global economic crisis. "Customer service and satisfaction is of utmost importance to us, and this new office will provide our international customers with the personal touch they require," said Brian Peterson, vice president of international operations, Emulex. "We are pleased to have chosen Ireland, because it has a strong workforce with a solid understanding of the complex and challenging technical operations and finance functions that are inherent within our industry." The office's functions include supply chain management, purchasing, order management, Return Material Authorization (RMA) testing, processing, shipping and receiving, financial reporting, credit collections, customer support and sales functions. "IDA (Industrial Development Agency) Ireland welcomes the launch of the Emulex Operation in Dublin. The opening of this office signals further growth in Ireland's reputation as a leading European base for technology led enterprises and is an excellent addition to the technology sector here," said Barry O'Leary, CEO, IDA Ireland. "The IDA looks forward to attracting further companies of similar high levels of technical expertise to locate in Ireland."
