Oracle Database Leads Data Warehouse Pack According to Analyst Survey

Oracle today announced that Oracle(R) Database continues to be the leading database for production data warehousing according to the TDWI- Forrester Quarterly Technology Survey (Legacy Databases Take A Dive: Oracle Earns Data Warehousing Bragging Rights, Forrester Research, November 2004). According to 44 percent of 290 respondents surveyed, Oracle Database was the database of choice for production data warehouses. The report attributes Oracle's leadership in data warehousing to: -- Oracle's installed base in transactional systems leads it to be favored with developers when companies are engaging BI challenges; -- Oracle Database's ability to accommodate a wide variety of business scenarios, including transactional, data warehousing and operational data store; and, -- The sharp growth of Oracle Database customers operating multi-terabyte data warehouses over the past three years. Oracle Database 10g provides a scalable and reliable engine for fast, complex query processing, online analytical processing (OLAP) and data mining. Oracle eases the maintenance of ever-expanding data warehouses with a single management interface complete with self-tuning and self-diagnosing features. With Oracle Database 10g and Oracle Business Intelligence 10g, customers can reduce the cost and complexity of building and deploying enterprise BI solutions. New Oracle BI Product Demonstrated at TDWI World Conference Oracle is participating in The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI) World Conference Winter 2005 at The Venetian, Las Vegas, Nevada, February 27-March 2, 2005. Attendees can visit booth #409 to view live demonstrations of Oracle Business Intelligence 10 g as well as learn first-hand about deploying Oracle BI solutions.
