Leader in Scalable High Performance Storage Plans Middle East Office & HW Technology Center, and Enlists Securetech for Regional Service Center of Excellence
DataDirect Networks (DDN) today announced plans for a significant expansion into the Middle East.Beginning in 2010, DDN is making a multi-year, multi-million-dollar investment in the region by establishing local offices, a state-of-the-art performance and compatibility test lab, and partnerships with best of breed technology organizations. This decision to expand DDN’s presence in the Middle East follows an unprecedented surge in demand for the Company’s content optimized storage technology and several strategic deployments of DDN’s Extreme Storage technology to leading Middle Eastern enterprises.
“We are at the dawn of an IT renaissance in the Middle East, and are very excited to help solve complex scale-out storage and IT challenges across many markets in this region,” said Alex Bouzari, CEO, DataDirect Networks. “With over 5 petabytes and millions of dollars of our Extreme Storage systems already delivered to customers in the region, we believe that this is the right time for DDN to demonstrate long-term sales and support commitment to the Middle East, and accelerate the growth of our installed base across the region.”
Across the region, from Turkey to Saudi Arabia to the UAE to Qatar and beyond, organizations are deploying new applications, which drive massive content storage that simply cannot be satisfied by traditional storage technology. These applications manage content-intensive processes such as oil & gas exploration, camera surveillance, media production and archiving and more. Building on its proven market leadership across thousands of installations, DDN answers the challenge by providing storage systems that deliver unrivaled throughput, reliability, scalable capacity, consistency and power and space efficiency.
“DDN is very pleased to appoint Securetech as Double Diamond partner and a Check & Regional Service Center of Excellence in Abu Dhabi as part of our Middle Eastern initiative,” continued Bouzari. “As a leader in Security and IT systems in the United Arab Emirates, Securetech plays an important role in value-added storage consultancy and support of content intensive customers across the UAE.”
“Securetech is at the forefront of high-resolution camera deployments for the security marketplace,” said Abdullah Al Neaimi, Managing Partner of Securetech. “Through this partnership and the ST-DDN Regional Service Center of Excellence, customers in the UAE can finally deploy truly scalable storage systems and efficiently and safely implement online video archives designed to hold months-to-years of security camera. With DDN’s proven technology, Securetech customers will scale easier, faster and with significantly fewer systems, space and power. With this partnership with DDN, Securetech is opening the world of high performance storage to the region.”
