Voltaire Appoints Eric Benhamou to Board of Directors

Voltaire, a leading provider of grid backbone solutions, today announced the appointment of Eric Benhamou to the company’s Board of Directors. The company also announced that Benhamou Global Ventures has made an investment in Voltaire. Mr. Benhamou is the chairman and CEO of Benhamou Global Ventures and Chairman of the Board of Directors of 3Com Corporation and Palm, Inc. “We are delighted to have Eric Benhamou join Voltaire’s Board of Directors,” said Ronnie Kenneth, chairman and CEO of Voltaire. “Eric’s impressive background and executive management track record at some of the world’s top networking companies will be a tremendous asset to Voltaire.” “Voltaire is a recognized leader in the high performance grid computing space,” said Benhamou. “Voltaire’s solutions are based on technology that addresses the need for efficient and cost-effective data center solutions. I look forward to working with Voltaire to help them move their business to the next level.” Eric Benhamou is chairman and CEO of Benhamou Global Ventures, which invests and plays an active role in innovative high tech firms throughout the world. He has worked extensively with the Israeli high tech community and has direct experience in helping many Israeli high tech companies grow into global technology firms. Mr. Benhamou served as chief executive officer of Palm from October 2001 until October 2003. Mr. Benhamou served as chief executive officer of 3Com Corporation from September 1990 until December 31, 2000. In 1981, Mr. Benhamou co-founded Bridge Communications, an early networking pioneer, and was vice president of engineering until its merger with 3Com in 1987. He serves on the board of the New America Foundation, a Washington DC-based think tank. Mr. Benhamou serves on the executive committee of TechNet. He also serves on the Computer Science and Telecommunications Board (CSTB), and is chairman of the Israel Venture Network.
