TurboWorx, Inc. announced the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has selected distributed computing solutions from TurboWorx to solve its complex, time-critical scientific problems. The intuitive interface from TurboWorx allows researchers and scientists to describe computationally intense processes in their own terms. TurboWorx’s software suite then accelerates results and streamlines complex processes across the enterprise. “The ability to assign tasks in parallel to different compute nodes when the submission of a large number of jobs related to phylogenetic tree reconstruction analysis using portable versions of PAUP and MrBayes was required. We were interested in TurboWorx’s software because we needed a pipeline system that could facilitate and speed-up phylogenetic analysis in our laboratory,” said Dr. Gustavo Caetano-Anolles, Associate Professor of Bioinformatics, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. “The TurboWorx team was very helpful and eager to solve our problems. We believe TurboWorx offers a superior product that connects applications quickly to reduce time to desired results, and a valuable solution for organizations that need to interface different software components,” Dr. Caetano-Anolles added. “We are extremely pleased that the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which is renowned for its commitment to innovation, and often experiments at the cutting edge of high performance computing, has selected TurboWorx,” said Jeff Augen, President and CEO, TurboWorx, Inc. “Academic institutions have a strong need for flexible solutions that will support their research efforts. TurboWorx provides an open, common framework in which researchers can share and reuse components to accelerate results,” Augen added.
