Paradigm, the premier provider of advanced petroleum geoscience and drilling engineering technology to the oil and gas exploration and production industry, has donated over $6M in software to the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM), bringing the latest oil and gas E&P technologies to the biggest University in Mexico and Latin America. The donation includes Paradigm's best-in-class visualization, interpretation and reservoir characterization software, including the industry-leading VoxelGeo(R) volume-based seismic interpretation system, Geolog(R) solution for log management, correlation and petrophysics, and Stratimagic(TM) seismic facies classification tool. The Paradigm software will run on workstations in the Earth Sciences Engineering Division of the University. As part of the ongoing cooperation between Paradigm and PEMEX, the Mexican national oil company, a number of PEMEX employees who are attending the Masters Degree program in the Earth Sciences Engineering Division have gained valuable training on the Paradigm systems, learning how Paradigm products can help them extract the maximum knowledge from their E&P data. The coordinator of the Seismic Interpretation curriculum, Ing. Ricardo Casterjon, said, "This is a continuation and expansion of the use of Paradigm's leading-edge technology. It will go a long way in helping prepare our graduates for the ever increasing pace and technical challenges of oil field investigation. Our students appreciate this help and will indeed take advantage of the opportunity that Paradigm is providing them and the University." Javier Rubio, Paradigm's representative in Mexico, added, "As the technology leader in the E&P software industry, Paradigm is committed to training the geoscientists of tomorrow, as well as keeping today's professionals at the forefront of their field. This is done by providing advanced solutions to major universities worldwide, of which UNAM is one. We are certain that Paradigm's software products will better prepare the Earth Science graduates of UNAM to successfully compete in the challenging field of oil and gas exploration and production."
