REDWOOD CITY, Calif., -- Informatica Corporation, the leading provider of business analytics software, today announced full support for the Linux operating system across its entire business analytics product family: Informatica PowerCenter data integration, Informatica Warehouse analytics and Informatica PowerAnalyzer business intelligence. This makes Informatica the first vendor to offer a complete, end-to-end Linux solution for the entire business analytics stack -- from "source to dashboard" -- at a time when Global 2000 companies are accelerating their adoption of Linux as a platform for enterprise applications. "We are excited to take advantage of the momentum in the industry toward Linux. For the first time, companies can implement Informatica in a comprehensive and cohesive analytic environment while fully leveraging the cost and flexibility advantages of the Linux operating system," said Girish Pancha, senior vice president of products at Informatica. "Customers can now host their entire analytic solution stack -- from data integration to business intelligence -- on a broad range of Linux-based servers, ensuring a lower total cost of ownership." Linux is gaining ground in enterprise computing for its ability to add flexibility to IT architectures (i.e. run any application on any server) and to reduce the costs of those architectures. Cluster-aware Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica PowerAnalyzer both provide robust scalability for expanding data integration and analytic deployments throughout an enterprise. Linux provides extremely cost-effective support for that scalability by making it easy to add low-cost computing power to Informatica implementations. "We have been eagerly awaiting a Linux version of Informatica PowerAnalyzer to support our critical call center analytics operations," said David O'Neill, vice president information technology at ING DIRECT Canada, a subsidiary of ING Groep N.V., one of the world's largest financial services companies. "Everyday, Linux attracts stronger enterprise support for its ability to reduce IT infrastructure costs, which is particularly beneficial in areas such as analytics where you're looking to achieve broad deployment and need to crunch through ever larger volumes of data." The Linux versions of Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Warehouse and Informatica PowerAnalyzer possess the same ease of development as the Windows NT and Unix versions of the software. Informatica PowerCenter transforms and integrates data from a wide range of systems to supply businesses with unified, 360-degree views of customers and operations stored in either custom data warehouses or in the Informatica Warehouse. This integrated information is used by Informatica PowerAnalyzer, which enables rapid and broad deployment of Web-based analytic solutions including dashboards, reporting, analysis, ad-hoc query, and analytic applications for CRM, supply chain management, HR and finance. Informatica PowerCenter with certified support for Linux is available now. Linux-certified support for Informatica PowerAnalyzer will be available by end the Q2, with the release of PowerAnalyzer 4. Pricing will be consistent with the Windows NT versions of both products.
