MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- Sistina Software, a developer of software that dramatically reduces the cost and complexity of data storage systems, today announced the addition of Oracle Corporation (NasdaqNM: ORCL) veteran Brad Ferguson as Vice President of Services. Mr. Ferguson brings more than 23 years of computer application and IT management experience to Sistina. As Regional Vice President of Telecommunication and Utilities at Oracle, Mr. Ferguson successfully led the central region through the turbulent phase in the Telecommunications industry, achieving records for revenue and margin. Mr. Ferguson now leads Sistina’s consulting and training organization, which provides customers and partners with architecture, design, configuration, implementation, and tuning support for applications in High Performance Computing, Edge serving, embedded NAS storage, and Oracle 9i Real Application Clusters (RAC) parallel database applications utilizing Sistina’s Global File System (GFS). “Brad Ferguson is exactly the type of person Sistina needs to lead the delivery of professional services to Sistina’s customers. Having worked alongside Brad while at Oracle, I know him as an excellent leader, performance-driven manager, and proven team builder,” said Frank Crusing, President and CEO of Sistina. “Brad’s responsibility to deliver reliable, affordable, and simplified management solutions to enterprise customers that utilize Sistina’s GFS in production environments is crucial for our customers and our company,” Crusing added. “Sistina’s Global File System software represents a breakthrough in clustering technology,” said Mr. Ferguson. “Databases, such as Oracle 9i RAC only address server clusters. Sistina’s GFS uniquely completes the equation by enabling easily managed, low-cost sharable storage clusters. I’m excited to be leading the team that will help customers and partners achieve optimum performance and realize the full value of applications such as these through training and consulting services.” Sistina’s GFS is the leading enterprise-class clustered file system for Linux. Running on economical, yet powerful, commodity hardware, Sistina’s GFS greatly reduces the total cost of data storage and simplifies system management.
