AT&T announced today it has been awarded a $3 million subcontract from CACI International Inc. to provide secure networking solutions to support e-mail and critical administrative applications for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), one of CACI's most valued clients. CACI specializes in providing systems integration, managed network solutions and information assurance for commercial and U.S. federal government customers. AT&T will provide a combination of managed International Frame Relay and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) services, allowing applications to run seamlessly across diverse system protocols and networking technologies. Additionally, AT&T's Secure IP Dial Service will support CACI's hosted authentication server and software to provide secure remote access to FAA applications serving the United States and overseas. The project includes providing international remote access with strict authentication for high security for up to 5,000 traveling and remote users. The easy-to-use AT&T access solution improves efficiency and productivity for FAA employees, while maintaining a secure environment across multiple networks. The AT&T solution also enables CACI to support the FAA network that links offices in the U.S., United Kingdom, Belgium and Singapore, and handles intra and interoffice messaging, file sharing and other administrative applications. By integrating existing hardware and software tools, the AT&T solution supports CACI's capabilities to the FAA while reducing costs, since translations are handled in the AT&T network. "With AT&T's solution, we can use existing systems, while taking advantage of technologies that help us improve operational efficiency and cost effectiveness," said Ron Cournoyer, Senior Vice President for Managed Network Services. "AT&T's solution offers us a custom solution with a unification strategy and a single dial platform, which is critical to serving our clients." "Our ability to develop a custom solution to support the remote access traffic was critical," said Brendan Floyd, AT&T Sales Vice President. "This award validates our ability to meet our customers' unique interwoven business, technical, and engineering needs."
