ARLINGTON, Va. -- CACI International Inc announced today that its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, has been named Ernst & Young's 2003 Entrepreneur of the Year for Government Information Technology (IT) Services. Dr. London was nominated by Peter Knickerbocker, Senior Vice President of Bank of America, and accepted the award at ceremonies in Tysons Corner, Virginia on June 26, 2003. The award recognizes Dr. London's leadership in sustaining an entrepreneurial culture at CACI that has contributed to both the business success of the company and the economic growth of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. Dr. London has guided the company through numerous business cycles, including a revenue and profit turnaround in 1984 when he took over as President and CEO. In 1990, he formulated CACI's "New Era" strategic vision to transition the company into an IT-focused organization. By 1995, Dr. London had identified the coming "network world," and, building on core competencies as well as emerging technologies, began a well-defined acquisition program to grow CACI for this new market. Today, CACI is well positioned to be a leader in the current critical transformation of the defense sector. The company is a key provider of solutions for homeland security, intelligence, information assurance, knowledge management, network services, systems integration, and engineering and logistics for federal defense and civilian agencies worldwide. Publicly traded since 1968, CACI moved to the NYSE in August 2002, and is well ahead of its announced goal of becoming a $1 billion company by FY05. Founded in 1986, the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year(R) program recognizes successful business owners who are vital contributors to the Washington, D.C. area's economic future. Dr. London has also been recently recognized by the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington, which presents its annual Ethics in Business Award in Dr. London's name in recognition of his commitment to business ethics. Commented Dr. London, "I am extremely proud of and honored by this award and the recognition of Ernst & Young and our business community. This reflects on the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives throughout CACI's entire workforce. We are a company that is firmly focused on providing the best government IT services and creating a corporate culture that promotes integrity and collaboration. This award reaffirms that commitment."
