NICE Srl, a provider of Grid deployment solutions, is delighted to announce a new technology partnership with the DEISA Supercomputing Grid project. DEISA is a European research infrastructure resulting from the integration of national High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures that provides leading scientific users with transparent access to a European pool of computing resources. NICE has over ten years of experience in Grid in some of the most widely respected research and industrial organisations worldwide and is a long time supporter of supercomputing and Grid initiatives. The NICE flagship Grid solution, EnginFrame, that helps solve problems related to computing resource optimization and rationalization, is already installed around the world in leading commercial, industrial and research sectors and compute intensive environments such as Automotive, Aerospace, Biotech, Oil & Gas, Electronics, and Telecoms. For many years EnginFrame has been deployed on the EGEE Infrastructure and now will be deployed on the DEISA infrastructure making it the one the most widely deployed Grid gateways on a such an infrastructure. That does the new Technology Partnership mean? The NICE-DEISA technology partnership is a wide ranging service and support collaboration that will include training, support services and maintenance based on the EnginFrame solution. Also in recognition of the value that an ongoing collaboration with DEISA could generate, NICE will also play an active role in the future DEISA project roadmap. The decision to deploy EnginFrame on the DEISA infrastructure was due in no small part to EnginFrame's ability to reduce the complexity of installation, deployment and usage normally associated with High Performance Computing Grid infrastructures in heterogeneous environments. The DEISA–NICE technology partnership also means that the DEISA project has a solution that is highly tuneable and comes with a proven efficiency and performance level in some of the most compute intensive Grid environments. Commenting on the new partnership the NICE CEO Giuseppe Ugolotti said "NICE is extremely proud to be associated with the DEISA Project and its work in the HPC. This new partnership is very significant to us as it is an opportunity to deploy EnginFrame on a massively worldwide scale but even more importantly allows us contribute and support the DEISA objectives of a transparent, reliable, persistent and worldwide High Performance Computing Grid and the enhancement of HPC capability and capacity in Europe."
