Axceleon, leaders in computational grid software, announced today that Réseau de Transport d’Electricité (RTE) and National Grid Company, the operators of the transmission systems in France, England, and Wales, are using EnFuzion to automate and accelerate Assess, a leading power systems analysis application. Assess, which is a product developed and funded by an engineering team at RTE with funding and support from National Grid, is a power systems analysis solution. Assess is easily distributed in a grid computing environment, therefore Axceleon’s EnFuzion is a perfect fit for automating and accelerating Assess. The simulation steps of Assess are very computationally demanding, but because each simulation is independent of each other, these simulations can be distributed and automated by EnFuzion. EnFuzion is currently used to manage and automate the processes on available computers. Axceleon’s EnFuzion has proven to be very successful for RTE and National Grid. Members of the engineering teams have been using HP-UX servers with several PCs running Linux to simulate ten different scenarios simultaneously while solving 500 different scenarios in just a couple of hours. "EnFuzion has played a key role in managing and automating Assess," said Jean-Philippe Paul, Managing Engineer at RTE. "We have been very happy with EnFuzion and its ability to manage hundreds of jobs simultaneously, while significantly accelerating simulations times." Electricity operators, such as RTE and National Grid, currently use EnFuzion to manage, automate, and speed up calculations of power systems analysis. By deploying EnFuzion, these corporations are able to save a great deal of time and resources. "EnFuzion has proven to be a key technology to several leading energy firms," said Robert Graziotto, Vice President at Axceleon. "We are very pleased to be working with RTE and National Grid, and excited that they are using EnFuzion with their world class application, Assess."
