SUNNYVALE, CA -- AMD (NYSE:AMD) today announced the 64-bit enablement of IBM's DB2 database software for the upcoming AMD Opteron(tm) processors based on AMD's Hammer technology. The enterprise-class database solution features a DB2 database on a SuSE Linux operating system, and was successfully enabled to support x86-64 technology in two days.
