SCOTTS VALLEY, CA -- Borland Software Corporation (Nasdaq NM:BORL), a leading provider of e-business platform solutions, today announced Borland(R) TeamSource(TM) Development Services Platform (DSP), a collaborative development platform for distributed teams to rapidly deliver global e-business applications to market. TeamSource features a high-performance hosted infrastructure, source code management and integrated business messaging that unites widely dispersed teams and provides a secure environment that scales up or down with development teams as they collaborate across the firewall. Today's announcement marks the company's first DSP offering. "Developers are now part of larger global e-business application development teams that cut across roles, geographies and corporate boundaries," said Thomas Murphy, director at META Group, a research firm with offices in Westborough, Mass. "As the complexity of lifecycle management increases, the need for facilitated collaboration and streamlined communication among all members of a distributed development team across the firewall is crucial to successful e-business initiatives." The initial release of TeamSource will include key services such as secure identity management, flexible access control, source-code management and business messaging, all hosted on a high performance hosted infrastructure. These core services enable companies to control digital assets and streamline communications among all members of the team, from application developers, script developers, Web and graphic designers, to content developers and end-users. "TeamSource is a first step in delivering on Borland's vision for digital asset management, collaboration and event management," said Patrick J. Kerpan, vice president and general manager of Borland's DSP business unit. "TeamSource represents another building block in meeting the needs of commercial enterprises as they increasingly turn to the Internet as a platform for developing, deploying and managing applications."
