Appistry announced a dedicated life sciences group to develop and commercialize technologies for Next Generation Sequencing. Through deployment of Appistry's proprietary High-Performance Pipeline Automation technology and strategic partnerships with industry-leading researchers, the group will enable organizations to create automated solutions that transform complex, unstructured sequencing data into actionable intelligence.
As part of the life sciences group launch, Appistry has formally rebranded its CloudIQ Solution as Ayrris/BIO to reflect the company's structured focus on the emerging field of genomics. Ayrris/BIO is a solution for next generation sequencing processing that applies cloud-like architectural principles to the challenge of extreme analytics. A fully automated solution that streamlines the analytical process, Ayrris/BIO can be rapidly deployed to deliver pipelines to market in shorter timeframes--significantly lowering costs while increasing performance. Currently available Ayrris/BIO solutions include pipelines for Human Exome, as well as Whole Genome Human, Bovine, Maize and a large number of other organisms.
"The massive amount of data generated by gene sequencing continues to pose a challenge to life science researchers, but traditional technologies have done little to improve the process. With the increasing adoption of our high-performance pipeline automation and high-throughput data analysis solutions for genomic research, it became clear that we needed to increase our focus on the life sciences market," said Appistry CEO, Kevin Haar. "Our technology platform--now branded Ayrris/BIO--will not only respond to these challenges in data management and analysis, but, in conjunction with the research of our formalized life sciences group, will shape the future of next generation sequencing and high-throughput computing."
Appistry's life sciences group will continue to enhance Ayrris/BIO while consistently developing new technologies and approaches to enable researchers to rapidly build, test and deploy sequencing pipelines. In addition, the group will be focused on accelerating the researcher/scientist to continually apply cloud computing, high-performance computing and analytics to build platforms and specific solutions for the automation of complex pipelines.
