RackTop Systems an innovator in data center solutions announces SuperScalar a high performance PetaByte in a rack data storage solution. It utilizes ZFS for its file system to provide data integrity with extreme flexibility and scalability. The NAS solution offers highly available dense storage with SAS drives and a proportionate amount of read/write caching.
The solution is delivered with the rack, cabling, and KVM included, SuperScalar is a complete drop in turn-key NAS solution. SuperScalar is powered by NexentaStor the leading ZFS storage software. ZFS has been touted for its self-healing storage architecture. It is not susceptible to the errors associated with RAID solutions. This level of data integrity is a requirement given the amount of storage offered and the probability of bit errors on today’s most reliable enterprise class drives. SuperScalar comes with all of the NexentaStor plug-ins available and can be configured as 2 active/active head pairs or a 4-head availability pool. The solution leverages caching with the ability to provide 200,000 IOPS per head and with dual 10Gb Ethernet adapters in each head there will not be any network related bottlenecks.
SuperScalar’s list price is $1,400,000 including installation, three years of maintenance, and quarterly professional services for performance optimization. RackTop provides management of the 4-heads and multiple SuperScalar racks through a single pain of glass for simplified management.
Eric Bednash CEO of RackTop Systems stated, “There are other PetaByte in a rack solutions, but when you look at the design and architecture they wouldn’t perform the way a customer would expect. SuperScalar is a very dense, high performance NAS solution that customers will be satisfied with for years to come.”
