Wedge Networks announced that its solution has been successfully implemented by Innovate Calgary, a provider of business services and resources for technology researchers, entrepreneurs and companies, to deliver a network level security solution to public areas of the Alastair Ross Technology Centre (ARTC), a 120,000-sq-foot technology business incubator.
With guests frequently visiting the 40 on-site companies and 75 virtual corporate identities, it is crucial for ARTC to have an easy-to-use, secure public Wi-Fi network in areas such as the lobby, cafe and meeting rooms. The challenge is ensuring network security, without having control over end-users, as they are freely accessing the network without regulations over log-in access, web filtering and security on the end point device. Upon deployment in the network, WedgeOS enabled ARTC to deliver a dynamic and secure end-user experience to the client organizations' various guests.
WedgeOS benefits ARTC by:
- Enhancing ARTC's manageability of application sessions to protect corporate guest reputations and IT assets.
- Protecting against threats including malware, data theft, malicious URLs and fraudulent websites.
- Providing a solution capable of handling high traffic volumes, deployed seamlessly into existing network topography and requiring minimal IT resources and management.
- Understanding the intent of Data-In-Motion, enabling the detection and remediation of both known and novel threats without impacting network performance.
