The Distributed System Interface (DSI) Consortium has finalized and released the DSI3 version 1.0 technical specifications.
Consortium members DENSO CORPORATION, Freescale Semiconductor and TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. and their partners have initiated system and component solutions compliant to the DSI3 standard in anticipation of volume deliveries beginning in 2013. The DSI3 standard and additional information are available at the consortium web site.
The DSI3 standard brings next generation features and performance improvements to the safety-critical serial data link used to interface sensors and/or actuators to automotive electronic control units. Typical applications envisioned are airbag systems and other automotive systems.
The DSI Consortium was established by DENSO, Freescale and TRW Automotive in September 2009 as an organization dedicated to the promotion and development of Distributed Systems Interface (DSI) standards.
The DSI Consortium invites prospective new members to visit the web site and if interested in joining, to contact the listed representatives. Working sub-groups exist for technical and marketing functions, leading the development and promotion of the DSI family of safety-critical serial data link standards.
