Sonics has announced that its SonicsMX on-chip network has been selected by DesignArt Networks -- the leading provider of single-chip 4G base station SoCs -- for use in the company's line of 4G SoC platforms for compact high-performance, high-capacity mobile base stations.
"Our multi-layer, multi-core SoC platforms are powering highly integrated and compact 4G bases station designs, where performance, size, power consumption and cost are all critical," said Assaf Touboul, co-founder and CTO of DesignArt Networks. "We selected Sonics to provide the on-chip network for the DAN3000 SoC platform design, streamlining highly congested data throughput, and helping us achieve the performance and design flexibility pivotal for delivering advanced 4G base stations."
SonicsMX on-chip network helps manage multiple high traffic profiles and high data throughput on-chip, maintaining optimal performance and superior power efficiencies throughout the SoC design process. SonicsMX was first introduced for cell phone applications and over the years became widely available for an ever broader array of next-generation wireless, digital consumer, office automation and automotive applications. Today, SonicsMX is the most widely used commercially available on-chip network for high-end, performance-driven SoCs.
"SonicsMX has long been chosen for some of the world's leading-edge, high-end SoCs for wireless as well as a wide array of consumer and advanced video processing applications," said Jack Browne, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Sonics. "DesignArt delivers the most powerful and highly integrated SoC platform designs for the advanced mobile broadband infrastructure and depends on Sonics to dramatically minimize design risk, provide a high degree of design flexibility, and achieve the highest performance levels throughout the intricate design process. It was a winning combination and we are pleased to be part of DesignArt's global success."
