Network Equipment Technologies announced the availability of its UX and VX Series products for Microsoft Lync Server 2010. NET's UX2000 Survivable Branch Appliance and VX Series Enhanced gateways provide support for Lync Server 2010. NET's Tenor series gateways continue to provide Basic gateway support for Microsoft Corp.'s unified communications (UC) platforms.
"NET's suite of gateways and Survivable Branch Appliances provide customers robust scalability and branch survivability options for their Lync 2010 deployments," said Ashima Singhal, group product manager, Microsoft Lync. "Microsoft is pleased to be working with NET in helping customers transform their communications for increased collaboration and productivity."
The UX2000 is a modular, high performance 1U system that has been purpose-built for UC, enterprise border controller and multi-service business gateway applications. The UX2000 is qualified as a Survivable Branch Appliance (SBA) -- the optional high-performance, server-class application solutions module (ASM) hosts Microsoft's SBA software and is based on Intel's 2.53Ghz Core i7 processor.
The VX Series and Tenor product lines offer enhanced features, broad support and scalability for Microsoft Lync Server 2010, and are qualified for Direct SIP connectivity in Microsoft’s Open Interoperability Program.
"NET's UX and VX Series products have been purpose-built to provide a high quality user experience for UC customers," said Kevin Isacks, NET's Chief Technology Officer. "We are very excited to be a part of this launch and to announce our solutions for Lync Server 2010."
