Nallatech Will Demonstrate Deep Packet Inspection FPGA Network Accelerator at SC10

Nallatech will showcase the PCIe-180 Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) network accelerator card capable of real time deep packet inspection and processing of 10Gb Ethernet traffic.
The Nallatech PCIe-180 is a versatile product with a combination of unique features that make it ideal for deep packet inspection applications. The first is the card's ability to dynamically switch between 10GbE and SONET/SDH protocols allowing customers to interface easily to Local and Wide Area Networks. The second is the fact that the FPGA's external random access memory bandwidth is greater than the 10GbE line rate. Thirdly, the PCI Express host interface is able to stream network traffic to the host platform without dropping packets -- this is crucial for more complex applications where processing tasks are partitioned between the accelerator card and the host processor.
"Having the ability to capture, inspect and manage network traffic has become a critical operational priority across a range of different markets," said Craig Petrie, product manager at Nallatech. "The PCIe-180 is a game changer; it can be used to assure data integrity at a fraction of the cost of specialist and expensive rack mount equipment. The PCIe-180 is a low cost PCI Express card compatible with standard server and blade platforms. Furthermore, it is a proven deployable COTS product shipping in volume to leading OEMs."
The PCIe-180 is the only accelerator card of its class to comply with the "low-profile" half height, half length PCI Express mechanical specification. It is no larger than a traditional network interface card. This enables compatibility with high density server and blade center platforms including CRAY, DELL, HP, IBM, SGI, SUN and Supermicro.
A host of optional IP cores and tools including an optimized 10GbE Media Access Controller (MAC) core and C-to-FPGA compiler are available. Nallatech has a dedicated design services team for customers who require help implementing their applications.
Customers are invited to SC10, booth 2112, to learn how the Xilinx-based PCIe-180 can be used to address applications such as network security, lawful intercept, digital rights management and subscriber services.
