AboveNet says that it has expanded its Metro Ethernet and dynamic Core Wave services in the London metro market. The new services are intended to help meet customer demand for dedicated, high-performance, and high bandwidth communications and facilitate connectivity between London's business and data hubs.
AboveNet’s local London network stretches from Slough through the Docklands with the ability to connect locations in The City and Central London to these data center hubs. AboveNet says it has optimized its offerings for high-bandwidth customers, with a particular focus on Ethernet services with high-performance features, flexibility, and scalability.
The company's investment in metro area network (MAN) services in London follows AboveNet's network expansion to other locations in Europe. AboveNet says it now connects to buildings with more than 400 data centers worldwide, including 35 of the most significant in the London metro market.
The metro Ethernet and Core Wave offerings enable point-to-point and multipoint connections in and between the London metro markets. They support connections of 100 Mbps and 1, 2.5, and 10 Gbps. Additional features include advanced features including privacy, security, and jumbo frame support.
