Allinea Software has consolidated its market position as the leading supplier of software development tools for high performance computing (HPC) with the appointment of Mike Fish as the new chief executive officer (CEO).
Mike Fish has many year's experience in the HPC software business, as well as a track record of growing businesses internationally through system vendor partners, integrators and resellers.
Mike Fish was previously managing director, EMEA at Platform Computing. He was also chairman at Scali Inc., an HPC software company, where he secured new funding and developed the company into a market leading position following which it was acquired by Platform.
Michael Rudgyard, Allinea's founder, comments, "I am delighted to welcome a person of Mike's calibre to our team. He has a strong technical background combined with an impressive career in the international software business, and has always been focused on sales growth and market leadership. Mike's appointment marks the next stage in the company's development as we consolidate our position as a software tools innovator and further accelerate our penetration into international markets. I am confident that Mike can help realize the full potential of the Allinea business, building upon the solid technical and commercial platform that has been put in place over recent years." Michael recently stepped down as CEO at Allinea to focus on one of the other companies he founded, but retains a board position with Allinea.
Mike Fish states: "This is a great time for me to join the Allinea team and I look forward to working with them to build on Allinea's already excellent reputation for product quality and innovation and for customer service. We are the fastest growing tools company in the industry and are now seeing further recognition of our market leadership following our recent success with the world's largest and most prestigious HPC sites such as the CEA in Europe and Oak Ridge in the US. They are the 'Formula 1' of computing, and what we learn in meeting their requirements filters down to ensure we can accommodate the most demanding of the mid-sized and smaller users, just as in the car industry. Allinea is now well placed to take advantage of this lead, expanding globally and into new market sectors."
