Fortinet has announced that its FortiGate multi-threat security product family was once again named "The Best UTM Solution" at Computerworld Singapore's 15th Readers Choice Awards 2010 for the second year running. This prestigious award was presented to vendors that score for price, performance, functionality and ease of use. The event took place on October 15, 2010, at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore.
"Clearly, Fortinet's offering in this area is much favored by IT executives in Singapore, who require and appreciate a broad, robust and reliable UTM system," said Computerworld Singapore editor Teng Fang Yih. "Taking this category as a repeat winner is a very difficult thing to do, considering how unforgiving enterprise customers can be in the security space."
Conducted by Fairfax Business Research, the survey aims to deliver accurate results from readership polls based on industry best practice, and is one of the strongest endorsement industry end users can provide technology vendors.
"We want to thank our customers for their strong support. FortiGate is Fortinet's flagship product family, which is the foundation of our end-to-end IT security portfolio, and we keep pushing new barriers in terms of performance and innovation to have this product line meet the evolving network security demands from our customers. This award further solidifies our position as a leading, world-class player for security technology and demonstrates our traction in the high-end market, especially in key verticals such as financial, government, telco and education," said George Chang, regional director for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong.
Fortinet's FortiGate systems are ASIC-accelerated security appliances that integrate essential security and network functionalities such as firewall, VPN, intrusion prevention, Web filtering, antivirus, anti-spam, data leakage protection, application control, traffic shaping and WAN acceleration. All FortiGate systems are kept up-to-date automatically by Fortinet's FortiGuard Network, which helps ensure protection against the most damaging, content-based threats from email and Web traffic such as viruses, worms, intrusions, other unwanted network traffic and more -- around the clock and around the world.
