Infortrend has announced the availability of new host connectivity and drive options on its ESVA (Enterprise Scalable Virtualized Architecture) E60 storage solution. In addition to the existing 1GbE option, ESVA E60 customers now have the option of choosing 10GbE host connectivity. Drive options on the E60 have also been enhanced, with newly added support for 6Gb/s SAS and SSD.
The ESVA E60 with 10GbE iSCSI host connectivity can support a powerful IP SAN delivering excellent performance, flexible scalability, high availability, and simple management. In datacenters featuring 10GbE backbones, the ESVA E60 allows users to leverage current investments in IP networks to achieve SAN consolidation and satisfy stringent performance demands for throughput-demanding applications.
With the newly added drive options, the ESVA E60 now supports 6Gb/s SAS drives, 3Gb/s SATA drives and SSDs (Solid State Drives). Featuring varying speeds and capacity, users can meet diverse requirements in terms of performance, capacity and cost, allowing applications to achieve their ideal service levels.
Thomas Kao, director of product planning at Infortrend, said, "Infortrend's ESVA is a proven high-performance storage solution for mid-range enterprises. The addition of the latest 10GbE iSCSI host connectivity further strengthens ESVA's ability to support high-performance storage applications in IP SAN environments. When combined with high-performance drives, the ESVA E60 helps mid-range enterprises maximize productivity, while optimizing return on investment and simplifying storage infrastructure."
