SAN JOSE, CA -- SANcastle(R) Technologies, Inc., innovator of the world's first multi-protocol switch, GFS-8(TM), for both Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and Fibre Channel (FC) networks, and Anritsu Company's Network Solutions division, a leading provider of IP-based networking and communications products, today announced they are teaming to offer an integrated solution for storage and data networking. Based on a multi-year reseller agreement, Anritsu Network Solutions will now integrate SANcastle's GFS-8 multi-protocol storage switch with its MultiFlow(TM) 5000 GbE Layer 2/3/4 switch family. "We selected SANcastle's GFS-8 for its reliability and performance," said Jack Landau, Director of Marketing, Anritsu Network Solutions. "This unique solution allows IT managers to reduce costs and improve efficiency by using a single high-speed optical IP network for both LAN and Fibre Channel SAN applications." SANcastle's GFS-8 switch routes FC storage traffic over IP networks for applications such as video streaming, content delivery, data mirroring, and tape backup. Anritsu's MultiFlow 5000 switches and routes both SAN and LAN data over high-speed links that range from GbE to MAN/WAN OC-48, carrying the combined traffic at a full 2.5 Gbps. Together, the two systems provide a complete end-to-end networking solution for users. "The technical breakthrough for both performance and applications is revolutionary," says VP of Sales and Business Development, Peter Dixon. "The throughput achieved is breaking new ground, with a win-win situation for everyone, especially the customers." Several customers are already using the unique solution for video streaming applications that send Fibre Channel traffic over IP and demand the high performance that OC-48 optical links provide.
