New management software solution automates system management, reduces administration costs and improves ROI: Verari Systems, the premier developer of powerful, platform-independent blade computing systems, announced Verari Command Center 3.0 (VCC), one of the most compete cluster management and monitoring software solutions on the market today. VCC is now available in three levels – VCC Standard, VCC Advanced and VCC Enterprise - providing customers with the flexibility to choose the right level of monitoring and management to meet their needs, improve ROI, reduce total cost of ownership and improve the performance of BladeRack 2 enterprise systems. VCC provides customers with the ability to gather data from the Verari BladeRack 2 hardware system including: power status, temperature, and performance metrics. By providing a single point of control, VCC enables system administrators to control, manage, and monitor the BladeRack 2 systems more efficiently. The introduction of VCC is the first of its kind among blade server providers and is a key differentiator for customers evaluating high-performance, scalable blade server solutions. “The number of system administrators required to run the Verari BladeRack 2 system is greatly reduced by implementing our Verari Command Center management and monitoring solution,” said Jennifer Skjellum, President, Verari Systems Software. “VCC is easy-to-use and allows customers to automate and perform tasks on many servers alleviating the need for tedious, slow, and often repetitive system administration work. VCC provides customized system management based on unique company requirements, reducing the number of people required to manage and monitor customer’s hardware systems. The return on investment for BladeRack 2 systems increases dramatically by incorporating VCC into the data center management infrastructure.” VCC Standard provides IT professionals with essential system monitoring capability and comes standard with the BladeRack 2. These features include: graphical user interface display for simple management and monitoring of the BladeRack 2 system; auto discovery of blades; power management; and hardware-level monitoring. For customers looking to reduce complexity and maximize system performance VCC Advanced and VCC Enterprise can be added to any BladeRack 2 system. Key features in VCC Advanced include: OS level monitoring; remote server management, provisioning and remote BIOS upgrade. These key tools enable management of BladeRack 2 systems. VCC Enterprise provides customers with the most complete set of blade server monitoring and management capabilities available. With VCC Enterprise, customers can unlock additional capabilities of the BladeRack 2 system, including remote serial console (up to 6 simultaneous streams), which enables key system debugging including Windows SAC and direct BIOS access. VCC Enterprise can be configured so that users can receive email alerts based on pre-set customer events; create secure based groups with different security levels; and control multiple racks from a single secure, web-based GUI or Command Line Interface VCC Enterprise works with Active Directory and LDAP services commonly used in enterprise and data center environments. “The ability to automate the administration of IT infrastructure enables companies to save a considerable amount of money in both the long and short-term” said Ray Paquet, Managing Vice President, Gartner, Inc. “By focusing on the monitoring and especially the control of the computing infrastructure, customers can dramatically increase their ROI, lower their total cost of ownership and improve their quality of service, all at the same time.” For more information about Verari Command Center suite of management and monitoring solutions, please visit its Web site.
