As part of its efforts to provide infrastructures that fulfill the demands of the dynamic Data Center, Fujitsu Siemens Computers has launched the next generation of the Xeon dual blade servers, the PRIMERGY BX620 S2, with Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T). The new servers target customers who need servers with a high packing density, fault tolerance, and simple and efficient administration in their data centers – all qualities that are offered by the PRIMERGY BX600 blade server system. The latest Intel Xeon processors generation used in the new 2-way server blade ensure high performance and future-proofness, a requirement in today’s server market. “The launch of the new server further enhances the PRIMERGY Blade Server ecosystem, which consists of appropriate deployment and automation tools, a successful blade server family and the necessary skills to serve the needs of the dynamic data center, “ said Ashraf El-Arabaty, Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise Solutions, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. “It meets IT managers’ demand for excellent performance with a small footprint and low power consumption, and it also meets their expectation for user-friendly system management as well as high scalability and increased flexibility from their servers.” Powered by a new chipset and processor, the new BX620 S2 blade server delivers additional performance and offers ease of use and management for both 32-bit and 64-bit applications. The new architecture of the dual blade server with DDR2-400 main memory modules and 800 MHz front-side-bus, offers higher bandwidth and greater throughput than its predecessors. The PRIMERGY BX600 blade server chassis offers space for up to 10 of the new dual S2 server blades. The PRIMERGY blade server optimizes the key criteria for servers in data centers, such as simple adaptation to capacities as required, flexibility to tackle changing use scenarios, optimum use of space and high performance. The PRIMERGY BX620 S2 server blade stands for flexibility, allowing dynamic software reconfiguration and full control with a redundant single point of administration. The extensive software support for control, management and deployment minimizes administrative cost and frees you from time-consuming tasks to focus on your business. Total cost of ownership (TCO) in a data center can be further reduced with the PRIMERGY BX600 blade server. The internal LAN connection structure of the PRIMERGY BX600 and the joint power supply allow easier maintenance and cut cabling costs to a third. The great flexibility of the blade server systems permits simple adaptation to unforeseeable performance requirements. If required, the system’s power can be increased simply by plugging in additional CPU blades. All PRIMERGY servers have been designed for continuous 24-hour operation.
