Etnus LLC, maker of the TotalView debugger for Linux clusters and other high performance computing environments, has announced the development of a "roll", or installation packet for Platform Open Cluster Stack (OCS). With this new development, TotalView configuration information can be distributed to each machine in a Linux cluster from a central server. As part of this development initiative, Etnus has made TotalView compatible with Platform Open Cluster Stack (OCS). Platform OCS integrates open source and commercial software into a single cluster operating environment. The result is simplified deployment and management of large-scale Linux clusters, including those made by Dell PowerEdge servers. "Etnus is excited to develop this 'roll' that facilitates the deployment of TotalView on Linux clusters," said Jim Chafel, Etnus vice president of business development. "We are particularly excited to support Dell turn-key solutions featuring the popular Platform OCS cluster management toolkit." "By integrating with Platform OCS, TotalView is now more easily accessible to software engineers looking to accelerate the development process in a Linux cluster environment," said Gary Tyreman, Vice president, Platform Computing. "Platform Open Cluster Stack is designed to transparently integrate open source and commercial software into a single consistent cluster operating environment and the addition of the Total View Roll will build on this functionality to benefit the end user."
