Session on High Performance Computing in Industry at The 2003 Intl. Conference on Parallel & Distributed Processing Techniques & Applications (PDPTA'03) http://www.ashland.edu/~iajwa/conferences/2003/PDPTA/pdpta.html June 23 - 26, 2003 Monte Carlo Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA IMPORTANT DATES: March 3, 2003 (Monday):Draft papers (about 5 pages) due April 4, 2003:Notification of acceptance April 25, 2003 (Friday):Camera-Ready papers & Prereg. due June 23-26, 2003: PDPTA'03 International Conference SCOPE OF SESSION: The purpose of this session is to bring together reseachers and practitioners from industry engaged in the diverse topics that encompass the field of high performance computing, especially parallel and distributed computing. Our goal is to enhance technical interaction and research collaboration between the industrial and academic circles. The session will serve as an excellent forum for researchers in industry to promote awareness of recent technological advances in this field and also to obtain feedback from a diverse and experienced audience. Topic of interest include (but are not limited to): Parallel Architectures Scientific Computing Applications Parallel Algorithms Parallel Programming Languages Application Parallelization Case Studies Parallel Computational Biology, Chemistry, Physics Performance Analysis and Modeling Software Tools and Programming Environments for Parallel/Distributed Platforms Parallel Programming using OpenMP and/or MPI Parallelizing Compilers Scalable Server Systems Cluster-based Computing Interconnection Networks and Implementation Technologies Memory Hierarchy Issues and Optimization Operating System and Runtime Support for Parallel Computing SUBMISSION OF PAPERS: Prospective authors are invited to submit their draft paper (5 pages) to one of the session chairs (addresses below) by the due date. Electronic submissions are encouraged. Please send file in PDF or PostScript format. The length of the Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 pages. Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. The first page of the draft paper should include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, E-mail address, telephone number, and Fax number for each author. The first page should also include the name of the author who will be presenting the paper (if accepted) and a maximum of 5 keywords. Submissions should explicitly state their contribution and their relevance to the themes of the session. Other criteria for selection will be originality, significance, correctness, and clarity. All accepted papers are expected to be presented at the conference. EVALUATION PROCESS: Papers will be evaluated for originality, significance, clarity, and soundness. Each paper will be refereed by two researchers in the topical area. The Camera-Ready papers will be reviewed by a reviewer to ensure expected quality and compliance with the reviewers comments. PUBLICATION: The conference proceedings will be published by CSREA Press (ISBN) in hardcopy/book. The proceedings will be available at the conference. Some accepted papers will also be considered for journal publication (soon after the conference). (In addition to the hardcopy, it is also planned to publish the papers on a CD.) All conference proceedings published by CSREA Press are considered for inclusion in major database indexes that are designed to provide easy access to the current literature of the sciences (database examples: ISI Thomson Scientific, IEE INSPEC, ...).
